MY SISTER'S WONDERFUL BAR-B-Q BEANS
Note:Another creative (borrowed
from my sister) recipe from Carole! This is another recipe from the days
when she put good stuff in her food, like sugar and fat. They don't make
recipes like this anymore. Okay, I'll put a healthy one in next time
(maybe).
This dish has been raved about at every party I take it to. It's odd
because I don't personally like bean dishes, so I have a hard time really
truly identifying with the moans of ecstacy I hear when people eat this.
Oh, well, I just think of chocolate and I'm sure I have some idea of their
experience, just with a different food group. Here goes.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 28oz Cans of Pork 'n' Beans
- 1 pound of bacon
- 1 medium onion
- 12 oz BBQ Sauce (or to taste)
- 1 pound of brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
Chop the bacon into 1/2: slices. Chop the onion and mix with the bacon.
Cook together. Drain.
Add beans, sugar, BBQ sauce.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1.5-2 hours -or- put in a slow cooker with the lid
off for approximately 12 hours. The sauce will thicken.
Enjoy! (or I'll tell my sister on you)
